Twenty more months of Wii shortages.
That's according to IDC analyst Billy Pidgeon, who believes that although Wii will continue to see strong sales growth, supply will remain a problem for the foreseeable future. "I believe the Wii will continue strong growth although supply continues to be a problem. Having said that, I don't believe supply will meet demand for the Wii until 2009," Pidgeon said.
Pidgeon went on to explain the affect these continued shortages might have on consumers tired of finding empty store shelves in search of Wii by saying that unless Nintendo can pick up the production pace, mass market consumers will ultimately lose interest in the console.
